So my phone is pretty much dead.... I need to get another one, BUT I don't really have a lot of money.... I have like 400$ to get a new decent phone inside EU. If I were to buy in Denmark then I can at most get a Honor 8, P9(on sale) and then a store also has a deal on a Motorola Moto Z 32gb with JBL cover for 400$.
I have been looking at a LeEco Le Max2, which is a huge 5.7" phone, but it has a SD820 and only cost 230$ in EU.

I normally go for phones between 5 - 5.5".

I would ofc like to spend less money than the 400$, because then I can save the money up and use them on something else.

if someone, where to ask, these are the bands used in Denmark

2G capabilities
GSM 900, GSM 1800

3G capabilities
UMTS 900, UMTS 2100

4G capabilities
LTE 800(3), LTE 1800(7), LTE 2600(20)

I'd say LG G5? Either new or refurbished?

"Make it future proof for some years at least, don't buy "only slightly better" stuff that gets outdated 1 year, that's throwing money away" @pipoawas

Mention me if you want to summon me sooner or later

Spoiler

My head on 2019 :

Note 10, S10, Samsung becomes Apple, Zen 2, 3700X, Renegade X lol

G5's aren't really being sold here anymore, I can find the G5 se, but that is a SD 652 phone and not SD 820, so I am pretty scared that it would get slow real fast.

Shops in Denmark list US prices and take USD?

Ability to use the local baseband is pretty much a given when you buy locally, else the seller would have got a bad rep or no longer in business due to a barrage of complaints.

What do you need and want in your phone?

just converted the Danish pricing to USD, to give people an idea of what things cost here.

I want my phone to be snappy, at least not lag a lot and take forever to open up spotify or something like that, other than that I want a decent camera, but that is also about it.

I mainly use my phone for PDF files, photos of products, music on the go, calling and then ofc to look up things.

For a start, the Honor 8 is no longer a consideration if you can get the P9. Moto Z is really fragile and has underwhelming battery life. Also no audio jack so I don't know how you will sit with that. The JBL mod makes the phone too thick to be practical. Would rather get an Axon 7. If you can afford an SD820 device, good camera is a given. Have you looked at the Oneplus and Sony phones?

I can get an Axon 7 on the German amazon, but it is also really pushing my budget to the limits. I can't afford Oneplus, they cost 500$ or so.

in my budget, Sony has the Sony Xperia X and Sony Xperia X compact.

you could also get a Xiaomi from a site like banggood.com, but only do that if know at least a little bit about fixing your software because these phones don't have great warranties. the price to performance is pretty good though

the international versions of the products in EU only has SD 625 and stuff like that. I have been looking a lot on honorbuy under their EU selection.

In that case its just down to the P9 or Le Max2

Big or small?

basically yeah. Do you know how well a hilo x25 keeps up with a SD820?

You can look at this 2016 flagship SoC performance comparison

At this level almost anything will run smoothly for sure, but its not an indication of power efficiency (which varies wildly by device)

More important things to consider is the size of the device and if it has the features you want.

oh thanks, my work is more basic or at least I think it is. though I would like to see some wireless charging since I used it daily for 2 years now, but there doesn't seem to be a single phone in my budget with it.
