Hi guys! I bough myself a pc, a high end one i could say with an i7 7700k and i wanted a silent pc as well so i bought a water aio with 240mm rad (id cooling frostflow 240). After turning the first time the pc on i noticed that the fans were spinning at around 100%. I got hw monitor to see temperatures and it idled at 50C. Under load it hit almost 80C. After that i underclocked and undervolted the cpu to 4200mhz and 1.05V to stop the cpu from heating so much. At first i thought that i failed to apply the thermal paste properly but after changing it it was the same thing. I read something that the 7700k is horrible when it comes to temperatures but i didn't belive it was this bad. My old pc which my father gave me had an i7 950 and on the stock intel cooler it had better temperatures. Do you have any suggestions ? i mean i didnt buy the latest i7 to underclock it to 4790k performance you know ...(can you suggest me a fan curve as well the stock fan curve from this gigabyte motherboard is really aggressive.

Are you sure that the pump is plugged in and getting power?

Moved to Liquid Cooling.

yes the pump is plugged. if it wasn't it would not have the led on.

What header are you using to power the pump?

the header that says cpu pump near it

What program are you using to stress test and what were your temps after undervolting?

For fan control, you can use the Quiet/Silent fan preset or use Gigabyte's SIV software.

after undervolting i got 50C at full load.

I stressed it with the cpuz integrated one.

http://www.gigabyte.com.ro/Motherboard/GA-Z270X-Ultra-Gaming-rev-10#kf this is the motherboard. the pump is the one on the bottem right ? i set it in the bios to 100% and put the fans on silent and put the cpu back to its stock frequency and voltage. i'll let it run for 5 minutes and update you with the temperatures.

ok so it hit 85C in aida64

You may have been unlucky and lost the silicone lotery, alot of people either RMA it or delid. Up to you but those processors are EXTREMELY hit or miss. and you may want to double check if you can send it back

Yes, the sys_fan3_pump header is at the bottom right. Make sure to set the header to Voltage mode in the motherboard settings.

85c is pretty high but still perfectly safe. Did you take note of the core voltage in cpu-z during the stress test?

Depending on on how high it is, it might just be that the Auto setting is using exceptionally high voltage and manually setting it would be your solution.

Your previous stress test with with the core voltage at 1.05v resulting in 50c leads me to believe that your cooler is operating normally.
