Ok so I have a really bad CPU right now and I am trying to get a i5 6500, which means i have to get a new motherboard, cpu, and ram, I have a hyper evo 212. I was wondering, since the i5 6500 has a lga 1151, does the hyper evo support lga 1151? The website says it supports lga 1150, does that make a difference or is it the same as the lga 1151?

In summary: Can I use a hyper evo 212 on a LGA 1151 even though the website says it supports LGA 1150?

@RKRiley @TDCDigital how much would that cost for a motherboard and cpu and ram? I only have $300 in birthday and graduation money

1600 + decent 350 board + 8gb ram is about $336 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7qkzxY

could always get the quad core 1400(or 1500x), b350 board and 8gb ram for $294 (add $20ish for the 1500X)

the 1600 would be much better if you were to ever stream or record/edit videos. Your budget doesn't really allow it but high speed ram, 3000/3200mhz would be helpful too, as ryzen benefits from faster ram.

All LGA115x sockets use same mounting. If you decide to go with Ryzen, you can request free mounting hardware for it from CoolerMaster. Prepare to wait, they might be out of stock or in backorder. But Ryzen stock coolers are good start for waiting time.
