1080Ti in custom loop

kreechrr

I have my 1080 Ti in my custom loop with my Ryzen 1700 and a single 280mm Rad to cool both. I've recently started letting my rig mine cryptocurrency when entering "Idle". various workloads push the system to different equilibriums, but the highest temps I've seen were still under 70c on CPU and under 60c on GPU after mining for 24hrs+. As pleasing as these results are, I'm still mildly concerned that, with CPU and GPU mining with overclocks, that I'm damaging my rig rapidly enough to hurt the system's longevity. I expect a mild decrease whenever I decide to overclock, but I'm mostly curious to see if any long time builders find these temps safe enough to operate for possibly days on end? They seem to equalize at just short of those temps, so I assume that's good? My CPU voltage is 1.4v in bios.

Most times heat is a PC's problem so your temps seem very good so you doing any damage due to running high temps would be on the low side but its not really an exact science

Can your case fit another rad? Even if only a 140mm it will help tremendously to reduce your temps.

for mining you may not want to overclock because the extra wattage is probably more than your extra revenue.

Thankfully, I live in a part of the US that literally has energy prices locked in from the early 1900's, so the profit margin for me is pretty close to 100%. There's talk of that ending within the next year or so, though :/

I've considered it, but the way the Masterbox 5t is, i appear to only have a 120 option as a rear exhaust. And, should I add a second 1080 Ti later, I'm definitely adding the 120 (but if budget allows, also a new case with better radiator options!)

Also if your mining i wouldnt overclock if im honest as extra volts can cause more heat so personally i would keep stock settings

i mean, with overclock, running 24+ hours, it never went above 60c. I hear the argument but it is so much easier to leave the overclock on and just let the mining start when my rig would've gone idle.
