So I've started having these weird issues with my PC, where basically my whole computer freezes if I go from desktop to full screen mode. This issue is somewhat alleviated by turning of GPU scaling but it doesn't seem to completely eliminate it. I am running on using the latest AMD Drivers, and even tried to do a completely fresh installation with no avail. My PC's specs are as follows:

CPU

AMD FX-8380

Motherboard

Gigabyte 970-DS3P

RAM

16 Gigabytes DDR3, HyperFuryX

GPU

Asus Strix AMD R9 380, 4Gigabytes

PSU

Corsair CX 600W

Keyboard

Razer Black Widow

Mouse

Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum

Operating System

Windows 10

The last few updates have had a range of complaints from issues regarding performance hits to freesync having issues and similar to your issue as people have said it is making their GPU unstable and causing it to crash their system. Perhaps this could be the same problem you are having?

Have you tried installing an older driver to eliminate the driver being an issue?

That didn't seem to do the trick. After a certain point the computer seems to freeze if there are changes in resolution.

EDIT: Managed to replicate it by spamming alt tab on full screen application.

EDIT 2: Tried to remove the card and use compressed air on it. No results.
