i don't see a reason why you should not be able to use a HDMI switch with a PS4 ... i have my PS3, xbox 360 and wii connected to a 3 way switch with auto switching capability - no additional power supply required

I use my ps4 on a monitor but i would like to view it on my TV via a switch so i can watch blu ray movies then switch back to monitor without moving cables

oh .. so you want to run the PS4 on a monitor AND a TV and switch back and forth ... that's the exact opposite of what i did - you need a different type of switch for that - or even better - a splitter ... so that you have the PS4 output to monitor and TV at the same time ...
