I'm pretty much building my frist gaming pc, i plan to run alot of rgb lighting, and so far here is the parts list that i'm planning:

cpu cooling: kraken x62

motherboard: asus strix z270 e

ram : g skillz trident z

gpu: asus strix geforce 1070

Anyways, i was wondering which of those 3 cpus offer the best perfromance for the money you put in, i'm also open to any ryzen models aswell, althought i've never used it before.

No photo /video editing at all whatsoever , i'm mostly focused only on gaming, and i don't plan on using 4k gaming that much tbh,  as far as budget goes i'd says i can shell around near 3k for the whole system , so i'd have around 800-900 wiggle room for cpu.

Also sorry, i shouldve specified those xD

Why would you recommend a last generation i7. This guy clearly has the budget for a better CPU like the i7 7700k. He's using a Z270 motherboard so why bother wasting the extra features that kaby lake has by using a skylake chip.

To be fair, i did consider it for some time , but i've wondered if the newer versions truely where worth their price tag or not , i'm especially curious about those i9's , althought so far i'm still looking for comments from people running it and if it has any issues

The I7 7700k recommended is a good choice as you are paying for features on that z270e so might as well use them. As for the I9, I have seen a few reports of the turbo boost not working as it should on the higher core models but your mileage my vary. In my opinion the I7 7700k that chris76816 recommended would be the best choice since you are only gaming.
