My friend needs new pc for gaming. His current pc is a potato and cant be used for parts. It will be used for 1080p gaming. Budget is 800usd.

This will serve well for the price. But, I would personally wouldn't build a pc right now, especially since 800 is a good price for a Rx 580/1060 build and those are impossible to find for their right price at the moment.

Mmh, here you go. Just to give an idea. I'd choose Ryzen over Intel because i5 do perform well, but if you do not "just play" (and I mean simply having a recording in the background, having a second monitor with Netflix on it or just alt-tab often for skype ..) the 8 threads of the Ryzen are much better. Swap the case you want, just choose one with 3.0 USB.

 

Also this allows you to go for a RX580 instead of a 1050/1050Ti which are a lot less powerfull. A 580 can max anything at 1080 very very easily and keep quiet.
