Display port Chaning

So I have a laptop what has a display port and the HDMI is broken. I want to get a new monitor and daisychain that monitor to my existing Dell U3017 that has DP out. The question is I would need a DP to HDMI because the monitor I want dosent have a DP in is this possible?

No, adapters will not work from daisy chains. Some DisplayPort hubs support adapters though.

what would I need to buy to get two DP monitors working with 1 mDP port?

Combine that with a mDP to DP adapter.
