Hi all,

I wanted to run through an issue with the forum to see what the consensus might be. I currently own a pair of Steelseries Siberia V3's and i have noticed that i have had to steadily turn the mic volume higher and higher for people to hear me. Last night during raid, I had the volume setting 3/4 of the way up and it was being reported that "i was speaking at a whisper" or " I was kind of quiet" (which I was not doing in reality). The volume is now at its to its maximum setting, within the Steelseries Engine. So my question is: Is this issue indicative of a slowly failing headset mic or might there be another issue going on? It's worth noting that the headsets cans continue producing acceptable sound as intended.

Thoughts welcome.

With headsets and microphones in general that have an auto-adjusting mic sensitivity and volume can be a pain. Make sure the levels are where you want them within Window's audio/recording settings, and then check Steel Series' software (assuming there is a software) for a microphone volume and sensitivity adjustment. If there's an option to disable an automatic adjustment, I'd recomend that.

It could also be whatever software you're using to communicate. Sometimes they will have an auto-adjusting sensitivity function. Discord, for example, has an automatically adjusting microphone sensitivity by default.

Thanks for the reply. I will double check on those things and follow up.
