Hi, I recently ran into a problem with my computer, and now it doesn't post anymore it just beeps slowly. This error started when I tried to install a FireWire PCI card, and I was to stupid to understand that USB and FireWire have different protocols but the same headers, so I installed it onto a USB header, and connected the 4-pin power cable to my motherboard. Then nothing happend, and the FireWire cable was seated correctly onto the USB header, so i thaught it was doing nothing because the power cable was connected incorrectly, so, while my pc was still turned on I turned the power cable around and then the computer shutted down and won't POST again.

The RAM and PSU are still working, i tested them with other machines.

I unplugged the computer and took the battery out for 3 minutes and still the same reaction (3 beeps with a one second delay in between and then nothing for 3 seconds and repeat)

try holding the power button down as well after unplugging power and the battery as some motherboards tend to "trap" power in capacitors, holding the power button drains the power from the board, 3 minutes might be a bit short in some cases if you don't hold the power button down

also how did you test the ram? did you run memtest 86 or just put them in another system to see if it boots?

you should run memtes if you havent as that will reveal if the ram has a more "hidden" fault that doesnt neccesarily show up during a quick "see if it posts" test

Have you tried to perform a sudden temporary interrupt of the electricity flow to your computational device followed by a re-initialization procedure of the central processing unit and associated components?
