Does 10-Bit Color Need a Compatible GPU?

If I get a 10-bit color capable monitor do I need a compatible GPU for it to work? eg a quadro

YES! You need also need a 10 bit panel like asus pro art panels!

Yes, and a compatible display interface (i.e. DisplayPort) as well as work with content programmed in 10-bit colors.

Just assuming because of your name, but if you're getting it for gaming, no games are programmed in 10-bit colors, so they will just look odd when stretched on a wider color gamut than they were designed for, unless you set the monitor to sRGB mode like a standard monitor, which would defeat the purpose of spending the extra money on the professional one.
