Help I know nothing about Laptops

I am going to school in september for a program that requires a laptop of these specs https://it.sheridancollege.ca/mobile/specs2016-17.html#winPerformance Being as there are just so many laptops I have no idea what a good deal is, as i am more familiar with desktop hardware.

Dell Inspiron 7000 Gaming PC if you don't mind a bulky laptop, Dell XPS 13 or 15 if you want a slim laptop. Make sure and get one with at least a 1050, preferably a 1050 Ti. What's your budget?

Laptop is almost like a desktop in terms of specs, but you also have to factor in cooling, screen size, weight, and battery life. Larger the screen the more power it draws thus lower battery life. And they weight more compared to those with a smaller screen size. From your college's requirement, you will have to directly buy from the laptop manufactures website so the OS can be customized to Professional because there isn't that much Professional OS ready laptop at stores or online. And it needs a dedicated graphics so none of those integrated graphics models.
