RGB Controller options

Hi guys, So this is more of an asking for clarification post rather than a build critique or assessment. 

I'm planning on making a new build soon but I wanted to use some RGB accented components. However, it seems that most of the software to configure the lighting on said components are proprietary to the motherboard or component manufacturer (think of ASUS aura, MSI mystic light, NZXT CAM). Seeing as I'd rather keep all of my RGB configurations specific to one software. Is there any software that can allow me to configure different RGB components from different manufacturers within one interface or do I have to try to make sure all of my RGB components stay within the support any one of those previously listed Softwares (MSI mobo w/ MSI graphics card, etc).

I don't know of any specific software, but I did watch a video from Paul's hardware a while back where he talked about making or buying adapters between brands, because they are basically the same, just have one or two pins a different way round. So if you found the software that you like best that can interact with hardware, and adapt the physical ports the brands or common strips of your choice. Gigabyte or MSI would be good bets for software that can customize the GPU, MOBO and other RGB components because they make all of the above and you can use that as a base to adapt from if necessary.

I think Gigabyte is pretty good, and some of their mobos let you reassign the RGB/RGB-W pins, to avoid needing an adapter.

Yeah. I think it's on the higher end Aorus boards. I'm pretty sure it's on the X370 K7 and K5, but you could check.

Well there you go. That sounds like a really good option.

And because it's gigabyte it will also support RGB on their own brand of GPUs.

And Gigabyte makes some pretty nice graphics cards as well...
