My friend is saving up for a new PC for gaming. He already bought Corsair Vegeance LPX 16GB DDR4 Memory, Cool Master N200 MicroATX Mini Tower Case, EVGA Super Nova NEX 650W 80+ Gold Fully-Modular Power supply, and a Hyper 212 EVO. His budget is $700 for the other components.

Note: Please try to find a GPU that will be available in a couple of weeks. (Otherwise I will shop for a used 1060 if possible. We have people driving 4 hours away trying to find a GPU in my city)

Thanks!

@herman mcpootis So Ryzen is the way to go? What about the Kabylake Platform like an i5 7600k?

the 1600 is on-par in gaming but performs much better for multitasking, and the 7600k will cause stuttering and FPS drops with a gtx 1070 and above unlike the 1600.

I got this message on PCPartPicker.

  • The Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler may require a separately available mounting adapter to fit the MSI - B350M PRO-VDH Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard.

What would I need?

the 212 evo might not have the am4 mounts if it was made earlier. just order them from coolermaster's website if the mounts aren't there, you only have to pay for shipping.
