Black screen while installing amd radeon driver

Is it normal for my laptop to go black screen while installing amd radeon driver software ?

Yes this is 100% normal. It might differ a little bit from system to system but this happens to almost all.

Try to avoid any heavy task/program while updating drivers of course, sometimes you will crash it or cause errors.

Again, it differs from computer to computer, but generally it takes less than a minute if your system in on an SSD. If your system is cluttered it might take longer for an update install.

its completely normal for the screen to flicker black a dozen times or so, but it shouldnt stay black for more than a few seconds(like 30 seconds tops)

30 minutes of black only? that is not normal at all.

Best bet in my opinion is to let it sit for awhile longer, there will be more issues most likely if you shut it down. So let it do its thing for a few hours (I know it sucks but sometimes itl fix it). If it doesnt complete contact support if you can.

give it another 30 minutes just in case, if its still not up, reboot.

 

the computer didnt just go to sleep right..?
