PS4 Update 4.70 | Question

potato_curry

So i know this update came out weeks ago but there were rumors that it was bricking systems, not being able to play games, wouldn't turn on, etc.
First of all what does that mean ?
Second, is it okay to update it as of today (22nd June 2017) ?
Third, How do I update it properly?
I haven't gotten many answers in other places online, would really like some advice.
I really cant afford another console so i would appreciate some good advice.
Thanks a lot, appreciate it !

In my experience: if something isn't broken, don't fix it. I haven't used my PS4 in awhile, so i don't know too much about it specifically, but that is my overall advice.

It's a update. if the system bricks just by installing a verified update, that's a problem. im 94.37% sure that the would have to fix or replace your console. After doing some searching on google, i couldnt find any consoles that were perma bricked, and where sony wouldnt not help. Dont hold me responsable if you ps4 bricks, update at your own risk, but you do need it to do anything online.

Oh? Well hello there! Notice me please!
