So, im gonna get a trident z rgb ram for 16 gigs

is it there any difference in performance or in any way if i purchase a 2x8 than 4x4

p.s the 4x4 is just for the aesthetics and to occupy the slots of the mobo

Depends if your mobo has dual or quad channel memory lanes.

It used to be common knowledge that Dual/Quad channel memory is better than single channel, But there is very minimal difference. I would choose the 2x8 just for easy expansion in the future.
