Hi There

Through work I have lucked into about 20 old pc's.

I have always wanted a beowulf type setup but don't know if there is any software out there that can do what I want.

What I want is to use those 20 computers as a single supercomputer. Basically to connect them all up and make a single virtual computer on the top so I can install windows on the virtual and that will use all of the resources of the 20 as if it was a single computer.

Has anyone done it and if so, what did they use??

no no windows. windows cant do it you'd need a linux built for it or a program that that pass the work to each computer you cant just use it as a normal computer plan 9 you kinda can but other then that you just put a data set in and get data out

So there's no virtualization platform yet that runs on Linux (say red hat) so that Linux can pass the work to each computer and back to the virtualization platform?

I thought that Xenserver would have gotten there by now or someone else that I just hadn't found yet ;)
