So I think I'm gonna purchase the new ek a240g when it hits the norwegian market. I've wanted to get into custom water cooling loops for a while now, but never did due to the price. But I really want a big reservoir. The reservoir that comes with the kit is a pump/res combo. Would there be any drawbacks to adding a second, bigger reservoir to act as the main reservoir and hide the one that comes with the kit, as to just use it as a pump?

Besides being a waste of money the only issue I could think of could be added stress to the pump. (but Idk really)

Welcome to the Forums!

The tube on those reservoirs can be upgraded to a longer section if desired without any problems with the loop.

The kit comes with an EK-XRES 100 SPC-60 MX PWM (this thing). It's designed so it can work with any of EK's X3 reservoirs, so you can just buy a larger X3 reservoir from EK and fit it to the pump unit instead of the small one it comes with.

EDIT: You can use any of these reservoirs with the pump unit https://www.ekwb.com/shop/reservoirs/reservoirs/ek-res-x3-series
