Possibly dead GPU

Hello my dudes,

 

So I did a stupid and installed my graphics card (a gtx 970) while the system was running. There were sparks and the system shut down. Thankfully, the system was fine, but the graphics card would not be detected by the device manager or output a signal. I've verified that the PCIE slots are not damaged by testing with a wifi card. However, the fans on the graphics card still twitch and the GPU core still gets hot. So is there any hope left for my 970? I bought it used and there is no warranty. I understand that this was the rookiest of all mistakes, but please, any help is appreciated, and any criticism is understandable and justified.

With the 970 in the PC, use the iGPU and go into device manager and see if the card is recognized.
