So I'm debating on something I have some extra cash and I wanted to upgrade. But I'm stuck between a new Ryzen or a 1080. I have an FX 8300 at 4.5ghz right now what do you guys think I should get?

go for ryzen. you only need 144 frames in competitive games, and your 580 can already do that

i'd say that it would be ridiculous to upgrade a GPU you've only had a few months, when your processor is quite literally a relic from a long gone era.
