yeah, which is probably whats causing the throttling to a degree, it doesnt look like the laptop was really designed with gaming in mind. I'd set it to auto pick and see how your performance fares in that regard, and if youre feeling up to it, replace the thermal paste and dust it out again. otherwise, to answer your question simply, there is no way to turn off the safety features that are keeping your processor from basically killing itself.

Hi guys

I installed windows 10 on my laptop a few days ago and when i game or use it at max utilization it heats up and the processor goes from 2.9 ghz in normal tasks to 1-1.2ghz in games because it heats up. I didn t had this problem using windows 7 ultimate and yes i m using a cooling stand all the time.

Is there any way i can remove this safety thing?

thank you very much

Sounds like to me its just thermal throttling, can you get AIDA64 on there to monitor temps and see whats actually going on? also check your power settings in windows to make sure they havent been reset and that the laptop fan isnt shutting off.

i did monitor it with aida64 on a stress test and yes is thermal throttling at around 90 degrees celsius but windows 7 never underclocked my processor like that

the OS doesnt matter, its low level safety features implemented by Intel/AMD. Go check your windows power settings to make sure that the system cooling policy is set to active, and try to see if you can blow out any debris from the cooler in the laptops fans

is set to active and my laptop has been cleaned a few days ago too! how can i lower the temps more? maybe changing the thermal compound would help?

a bit old, asus k53s with

i5 2430m 8ram and a geforce 610m 2gb

Is nvidia control panel set to default to using the 610m or the intel integrated? I dont know if it would change anything messing with those settings
