Ping Issues

I have frontier communications in California. Everyday from about 4 pm to 11 pm, my ping to an LA server will stay from a constant 80 to 160 in the past two days. My usual ping to these server is 10 ms which makes it very hard since I usually play games between these hours.

Are you sure your ISP is not Suddenlink?  I live in Fortuna up north in Humboldt County.  My suddenlink ISP is in Eureka, 20 miles from the house.  My current ping (using speedtest.com) is 9ms while my download is 6.92Mbps and the upload is 8.17Mbps and it is 10:55pm.  Really bad part is that I pay for 100Mbps downloads.  The service tech has been to the house four times in the last three weeks and they still can't figure it out.
