RGB hearder control

Hey everyone. This could be in the wrong section so forgive me for that 

 

I'm trying the figure out the RGB header on my motherboard. Or, more so a better way to use it 

It's not that I don't have the right drivers installed, or the right programs. It's that the options for my version of LED control for my board is terrible!

I have a MSI Tomahawk B350 board. 

 

The app is so limited in what is can do for the RGB header that it hardly worth using. 

It only gives me about 8 colors to choose from, I cannot make any custom colors, there are not color transitioning effects, it only gives me a couple of options for flashing and stuff like that.

Not to mention the program is so flaky that I can only get it to open maybe once a week if I am lucky. (The same can be said for all the MSI programs)

 

I'm just curious to know if I can install say Asus aura program or  a third party program to control that header. LEDs can fade so I would think that the hardware would allow for there to be ample color customization.

Really I just want a color fading thing like a rainbow or something. Or really anything that isn't the standard colors essentially. 

 

What do you think? is there a way to "hack" into that port in some way?

I think only MSI software can work with the MSI header.

That's quite unfortunate. I was even prepared to write a C++ code. but if only that program can use it, I guess it will just go as an unused feature. Damn...
