Hi, forum newbie FourEyes here. My first gaming rig, which I got 4 years ago, broke down recently, Therefore I am currently planning a new build, the first one I'll be assembling on my own (Dad didn't couldn't trust a 15 year old me with computer parts worth around a total of $1600). I want an ATX computer that is horizontal, as opposed to the vertical alignment of the standard tower case, with my reasoning being that I want to be able to place my audio mixer and potentially other external hardware on top of it rather than next to it. So far I have found a few candidates, such as the Fractal Design Node 605, Silverstone GD09 and Lian Li PC-C32, or alternatively a Lian Li PC-O10 put on its side. The issue is that the HTPC cases are usually a bit too small for my comfort, and I am uncertain as to whether or not I should place a case on its side when it is designed to stand vertically. This might have an obvious solution, but I am pretty inexperienced in the practical aspect of PC building, so I figured that I'd ask the forum before making a final decision on the matter.

Cheers!

I did consider that case, but since it doesn't have a completely flat topside, I decided against it. My goal is to put external hardware on top of it, after all.
