So I just built my first computer and it wont turn on. I figured out that i might have installed the cpu wrong as I didnt open up the retention arm. I just dropped it down and it seemed to fit perfectly. Im using a Ryzen 5 1600 cpu With an asus x370 prime pro mobo.

I was wondering if i might have broken the cpu or if Thats the reason the PC wont turn on. I uninstalled the cpu and it Doesnt look like i've bent any pins.

if you didn't secure it under the retention arm that probably means it's not securely in place therefore it won't work, follow a video tutorial next time

pull up the arm, place the cpu in, pull down the arm. make sure to line up the triangle on the cpu to the one on the socket

I reinstalled the cpu and the PC works!

but there is another problem. It wont not into the bios. I Dont Get any display and i've waited for about 10 minutes

does it have any text along the lines of insert boot media? If so, install your os.

to get into bios, you have to press delete while the computer is booting. However, some motherboards will use a different key
