Hello,

Let's start with the relevant parts in my PC. (Actually maybe CPU is relevant as well, it's a ryzen 5 1600) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jQF2M8

I checked in the BIOS and saw that my RAM is set to run on 2133MHz, so I wanted to change it (as I paid for 2666MHz). What I did was go into the BIOS -> Advanced Mode -> AI tweaker and set 'Ai overclock tuner' from 'auto' to 'D.O.C.P.'. When I try to boot it fails a few times (screen has no input), then it says something along the lines of 'overclock failed'.

Also, since it said 'overclock failed', I was wondering. Does this count as overclocking? Because it's not right? I don't want to lose warranty :)

I am not familiar with DOCP (I just learned what it was) BUT using an Intel technology on an brand new AMD platform is not necessarily the most stable thing... I would try to manually enter the specs that the ram is supposed to run at... Or at least use A.M.P. if it's available

Is the ram supported by the motherboard? that could also explain why it didn't support the overclock

As far as I know it is just the AMD equivalent of XMP.

You mean the RAM right? I am a bit of a noob to this, how do I know which RAM is intel based and which is amd based?

RAM should be supported I think:

"4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 3200(O.C.)/2933(O.C.)/2666/2400/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory *1"

source: https://www.asus.com/nl/Motherboards/PRIME-B350-PLUS/specifications/

I guess I could try to manually set the specs. :)

DRAM OverClock Profile (D.O.C.P).

AMD has their own Intel XMP equivalent, but motherboard manufactures are to able read the profiles for both supporting types of profiles.

ASUS calls it D.O.C.P., while other manufacturers...like MSI calls it A-XMP. Gigabyte's version  is called Extended OverClock Profile (E.O.C.P).

Make sure your motherboard is using the latest BIOS.

Earlier / launch Ryzen BIOS versions did not have good support for DRAM running beyond 2133 ~ 2400 MHz.

As you mentioned yourself, you COULD try dialing the DRAM settings (e.g. frequency, timings, voltage, etc) manually.

Well, I have a problem. I went to the asus site and looked for the new bios version. It had a note that it was recommended to use their ez update tool. So I did, just before it started it had a message "path to bios not found" or something similar. I don't exactly remember. About 1 second later this screen came up (I added image to post). It has been stuck on this screen for 30-40 minutes now. What can I do? Do I reboot?

(I can alt+tab back to windows, but I didn't want to open anything)
