Single card or crossfire

hey guys i know this may have been asked before but i looking at buying a new gpu or gpu (well used one) i want to know if i should go with a single GTX 1060 or go with a crossfire configuration. if i did crossfire id like something i could get cheaper or same value as a gtx 1060 and be better if thats possible. if you guys know of any solutions please let me know.

My PC Specs:

i7-2600k

8gb 1333mhz RAM

Radeon HD 4890 1GB

asus p8p67-m evo

Kingston Hyperx Savage SSD 240gb

EVGA 500w bronze PSU

single card, preferrably a 580 instead of a 1060 but if 1060 is a must then a 1060 6gb not 3gb

580? I do agree single card tends to be the better option. More support, less microstutter. I think that if you want a new graphics card and a 1060 is you budget, then go for it.

would there be any cross fire options that would do better for cheaper? i dont mind buying used or older gens

Oh 580 as in AMD. Yeah, that's ok too. Thought you said a GTX580 by mistake.

No. 1060 6GB or RX580.

crossfire/sli does not support by some games, produce more heat and power

Yeah, I would stay far away from those, too many issues, too much heat. Especially if you live in a hot climate.
