Motherboard Issues

Go to solution Solved by KenjiUmino,

i don't know of any method to change bios settings without a screen. (some boards offer some sort of remote access over LAN or serial but i doubt this board has anything like that)

you do not need a graphics card because the board has integrated graphics.

you only need a monitor and a keyboard connected to the board for first time setup.

once you have everything set up and working you can run the system "headless"

I am confused on how I could install freenas on a Intel D945GCLF2 Essential Series Mini-ITX DDR2 667 without a screen to edit the bios and boot it from a usb I am trying to make a Home NAS server and I am pretty new to the concept of putting things together. I don't even know if i need a graphics card if im not using a screen. Also I am wondering if i could use a sea gate drive as the hard drive via USB
