I am looking for new phones, and I have a limited budget (preferably below 200 euros in the netherlands). at this budget a lot of phones still use android 6, now I don't think I will really miss the features of android 7 but what I'm most concerned about is security.

Do you guys recommend buying a phone with android 6 instead of one with android 7 if that phone has advantages? or should I go with android 7 to be safe?

also, it would be great if you could recommend a phone for this budget, but if you do pls tell me why it is good.

I would suggest Android 7 because it will keep getting updates. Look at asian brands like Hauwei or Oneplus.

PC: Case: Cooler Master CM690 II - PSU: Cooler Master G650M - RAM: Transcend 4x 8Gb DDR3 1333Mhz - MoBo: Gigabyte Z87x-D3H - CPU: i5 4670K @ 4.5Ghz - GPU: MSI GTX1060 ARMOR OC - Hard disks: 4x 500Gb Seagate enterprise in RAID 0 - SSD: Crucial M4 128Gb

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S6

I don't think OS really matter with Android

So far I haven't see any apps that incompatible with different OS (except apps that became necessity for each OS it self, like contacts, telephone apps and so on).

My preferred guideline buying android, it use to be at least supported by cyanogenmod

but since CM is dead and continues as LineageOS so that will be it.

This to provide backup just incase your manufacturer stop updating their products, this is what happen to most brand specially big brands, like Samsung and sony. They even still selling Kitkat devices to their customer.

But since the user base is large, most samsung and sony products custom rom are easy to find.

You also can find the cheapest phone that support LineageOS since it's using Android 7 to know the latest and greatest feature that probably you not missing on previous phone.

considering the amount of vulnerabilities announced last year i would want the latest software. Have a look at what you can get in the 2017 Samsung Galaxy A3 or A5. My local prices come around your price when i do currency conversion but that doesnt count for tax differences and any other hidden EU costs.

 Oneplus.

OP said that he's looking for a phone that doesn't cost more than 200€. You're talking about OnePlus. Solid advice. Well done. A+.

I don't really play many games for gameplay anymore honestly. I play most games just for the graphics.
