I have a gtx 1070 and I want my games to run faster than 60fps because I have a 144hz monitor but not at 144hz because my graphics card get s really hot when I turn on v-sync. On War Thunder, it just sits at 60 fps always even though the GPU usage is 30-35% But I want it to be more like 90fps, How can I tell it to do that?

I did and it was exactly 144fps

should be able to limit fps in the settings for the card be it afterburner of asus equivalent depending on manufacturer

  • CPU
    i7 6700k overclocked to 4.7 GHZ @1.38v
  • Motherboard
ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero Alpha
  • RAM
    32GB Gskill Ripjaws @3200mhz
  • GPU
    ASUS ROG Geforce 980
  • Case
    CoolerMaster HAF X
  • Storage
500 GB SSD and 12TB mechanical HDD some soon to be split to NAS
  • PSU
    EVGA 1000 G1

when v-sync is on, my graphics card fan is really loud which I don't like, I would prefer the game to work at 90fps for less of a load on my GPU and being quieter while still being a pretty good performance.

what is your full system spec?

i did configure the fan curve, it is loud, I dont want to overwork my grpahics card at 144hz but I want it to be higher than 60

what? you are not overworking anything, graphic cards are designed for that, long as you stay under 85C you should be fine.

But it's loud, that's what I'm saying. the fan is at 100% thus very loud which is my problem I have explained this many times, It is -->loud<--

The noise is the problem

use the fan curve, what case do you have, it sounds like you have crappy cooling, a gtx 1070 should not go 100% fan speed at 35% gpu utilization.

My case is wood

You obviuosly do not understand the situation, I will explain again: with v-sync on(144fps) 75% utilization or higher but loud fan<--problem. v-sync off my Gpu goes to 60fps which is too low for me but the utilization is about 35% I want the fps to be 90fps not 60(too slow) not 144(too loud) get it??
