Hello,

I never have build a machine for 24/7 operation for surveillance system and light control.

Budget is 1000$

And it should support COM and windows xp

Uhh, I really don't recommend using XP, you saw what happened.  This is especially a bad idea for a surveillance server as it's for security, and XP is definitely not secure.  I recommend using something based on the Windows 10 OS, there are lots of options from Microsoft.  I would also like to add that you're not going to find a lot of hardware or drivers that are going to support XP, this will likely result in loud, bad, and outdated hardware.

 

If you want something that's more efficient, budget friendly, and secure, just do a look and take a peek at some pre-built systems and go from there.

PC is not. connected to Ethernet, and software is old and dont run on anything newer
