So I want to buy a new motherboard (Asus strix 270e) and use all the hardware on my old pc except for the gpu (going to replace my geforce 980 with Asus strix 1080Ti oc edition). Yes all the parts on my old pc can work with my new motherboard, but what I'm confused about is whether I can put my old ssd and old hdd into the new motherboard and still have everything that was stored in the drives, including windows 10, into my new build!

I appreciate any help I can get! :D

Which type of Windows license was it,OEM or Retail. If OEM,you need to buy Windows again since a OEM license is tied to a motherboard. If Retail, you do not need to buy Windows again. What was the old motherboard,do you have the motherboard. If you want to TRY to even retain the Windows install.Uninstall all the drivers, driver programs. Then shut the computer down instead of a restart (on restart,it will try to find those drivers again that you dont want)Swap the motherboard and see if it boots up or BSOD's.The Biggest point of failure is the AHCI driver,so try running in Legacy Mode,Compatibility Mode and then try, more bluescreens? Try Safe Mode if it doesn work..
