Hello

Here are my pc specs

X99 Sabertooth

I7 6800K @4.2Ghz

16Gb 2666 Mhz CL16 4*4

1Tb Raid 0 4*250Gb Samsung 850 EVO

Case is a Cooler master Cosmo II with :

NF-A15 back , Top and front of GPU

NF-F12 on side panel for the GPU

NF-S12A for the lower drive cage

(yeah i am a noctua guy i know but... they are so cute)

The rest is in profil and not revelant about my questions !

Here it is !

I am wondering about my storage evolution.

In my path to stupid and overkill solution, because.. well thats what i like.

Thinking about purchase a Samsung 960 EVO 500Gb as a main drive.

Will put my OS , Soft and Games on it and turn my raid 0 into a raid 10;

But i got like... 2 questions

Does the 960 EVO has overheating issue like the 950 has ?

Living in south of France and summers are kind of hot in here.

It will be close to my 1080FTW and the thing average temp is like 77°C

Blowing hot air all other the place , not sure adding a 80°C SSD would help

second question !

The 4 ssd in raid give me about 1,5Gb/s read / write speed.

If i recall well with 2 i was at like 950mb to 1Gb/s read/write speed.

Will i get the 2 SSD in raid 0 speed with a raid 10 of 4 ?

Sorry for the weird english i am French;

Thanks by advance !

ps : I know all those answers cna be found on internet, but i am at work, supposed to solve user pc issue so i can't work on mine atm !

I wish i could oc my body, during winter overheating would be great.

To answer your first question i searched around the net and found that people still a concerned about their ssd's overheating, however their worries is in vain as the 960 EVO has a safeguard against it.

As for the second question: You will still get the same performance with 4 SSD's in raid 10 as 2 SSD's in raid 0.

Raid 10 works like this: It take 4 disks and makes two raid 1. It then combine those raid 1 into a raid 0. If you want to know more CLICK HERE.

404 , but no worries i know how Raid 10 works that's why i wanted one to secure a bit the data on those.

Was just wondering about doing it with SSDs.

Thanks for the rapid answers.

This gonna be good just waiting for noctua 200mm fans announced  yesterday :D

Oh ps : safeguard stuff means performance reduction ?

I wish i could oc my body, during winter overheating would be great.
