Downloaded files make folder slow

Just downloaded 3 rar files (that contain music) extract them to three separate folders when I try to load any of those folders they take at least a minute (I think) to load, together each should have ~25 files, I don't think 25 files (unless they were like tens of gigabytes (or terabytes) should take more then a few seconds to load.

From the users folder---> right click downloads folder--> properties.  Find the customize tab-> optimize for videos or whatever it is.

I've tried general, I've tried music, same result still slow. If it matters - Super Mario 3D land music was what I downloaded. Also downloaded music from the same game on my old slimline and it had the same result.  Guess I could try moving the files one by one into different folders (one file per folder) and see which is the culprit, although it may be all.

Weird, I had a similar problem because of hundreds of anime episodes in my downloads folder; setting it to video then rebooting fixed it for me.  How big are these files?

Altogether (extracted) about 562 MB, 66 files. even extracting one rar file (about 24 files) will slow the folder down.I would think this should happen with thousands or tens of thousands of files but less then 70?

Huh, that's pretty tiny. Is that all that's in the folder? I would have expected at least a few gigabytes.  Well it's not a fix but move the music to your music folder and make sure your music folder is optimized for music.  It's some sort of indexing problem at any rate.

^I know it should be gigabytes (terabytes?) and or (tens of) thousands of files that make a folder load slow but between 1 - 70 and not even 3/4 of a Gig?  Indexing options seems to have no effect . . .
