My Specs:

CPU - i7 6700k

CPU Cooler - H100i

Motherboard - Asus Maximus VIII Hero

Ram - 16GB Corsair Vengeance

GPU - 980 Classified

PSU - 1050w EVGA G2, I think its G2

Monitor - Benq XL2430t

My Issue (MAIN issue):

I have been having this issue for quite some time now. Often when I am playing CS:GO, the game will randomly grey screen and I cannot do anything on my computer. Sometimes if I wait it out, I can Ctrl+Alt+Delete and close csgo with task manager. Once I do that, my computer will operate normally again. Other times I will just have to restart it. I am playing the game in 4:3 resolution with black bars, so I am not sure if that will have anything to do with it.

My Other Issue (that rarely happens):

Sometimes when I am playing games, my monitor will go black and say that it is out of range. I am not sure what to do about that.

My attempts of fixing it:

My temperatures are all fine, CPU < 55 while in game, GPU was like 40ish

I RMA'd my GPU and it continued happening.

I reinstalled windows numerous times

I reinstalled the game numerous times

I have tried various drivers

I have posted on various subs for about a year now and have not found a solution. I have been watching this channel for awhile too, and I figured that if any community will know how to fix it, it may be this one.

Thank you for reading this!

faulty monitor or monitor cable

out of range is where the monitor cannot take a higher refresh. for example, 85Hz on my 60Hz Ultrawide makes it display out of range, but 77 works fine.

also, you don't have a G2, you have a GS 1050W. Different OEM, as G2 is made by Super Flower whereas GS is based on a Seasonic design.

idk

Do you believe that this is causing both of the issues, or just the Out of range one?

possibly both, definitely the Out Of Range one.

try contacting BenQ, the monitor is having issues - may be faulty or just a bad configuration

Thanks, I just sent a support message to Benq. This is my second monitor from them that had issues. (My previous one had a few set of pixels that would trigger the entire row to become that color, which was quite annoying)
