New processor installation problems

Go to solution Solved by mpsparrow,

Try resetting the CMOS.

Spoiler

Windows 10 64-bit

i5-6500 (Upgrading to 7700k)

Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI

G.Skill Ripjaws 2x8GB

WD Blue 1TB HDD

BIOS is before Kaby Lake support

Post code: 1 short beep, followed by another 5 short beeps

Alright, I finally got my i7-7700k, and I was going to install it. So I pluck it in, and it wont POST. Then I remembered I needed to update my BIOS, so I pluck in my i5-6500 to Q-Flash, but before I get the chance, my friends, POST codes come up. The codes are 1 short beep, followed by another 5 short beeps. At this point I ripped everything out of the case, and I don't know what to do.

So it worked then? Resetting the CMOS got your PC back up and running?
