Hey guys, I still to this very day have no found a solution to why my motherboard is running at PCI-E x8. I've updated the BIOS, verified the correct settings, reseated the GPU, verified its not the GPU (as I had to replace my GPU before due to a different issue) and inspected the slot, as well as used compressed air to clean it, and despite all this, I'm still at x8 and not x16 where I should. Is there anything else I can possibly do? My specs:

MSI H81M-E33

8 GB DDR3 RAM

GTX 760

650W EVGA 80+ Gold PSU

Windows 10 Home 64 bit.

I've also inspected my slot too, all the contact are there.

Have you tried resetting the CMOS on your motherboard? And could you take a picture of the bios PCIE setting.

Gen 1 or Gen 2

Not sure, I just checked my MSI H81m-P33 (that doesn't have a GPU in it) and in board explorer it's showing up as "PCIE1x16 : empty", and I'm too lazy to pull the GPU out of my system to see what it shows up as.

I guess the only good news is that it won't bottleeck you at least.

I kinda fear it is because my Bus Interface Load in MW Remastered can go up to 60% at times which, from what I hear, can cause FPS issues but I could be wrong lol

Even a 1080Ti wouldn't be bottlenecked on PCIE 2.0x8, so I really wouldn't worry about that. I would just want it working properly for my own sanity. Have you tried contacting MSI support?
