How to stop studdering?

Recently i got a new graphics card (radeon rx 480 8gb) and i was getting this slight stutter every 10 seconds. I thought it was my power supply so i got a new one and that wasn't it i was still getting the studder. so i tried uninstalling and reinstalling my drivers and now im getting an unplayable studder that happens about every two seconds. Please help i just want to play games again:(

hmm i wouldn't think so. but i don't know. i think im installing my drivers wrong or something. How would i be able to tell if its a hard drive bottle neck?

If you have your games on a normal Harddrive and not on a SSD, loading textures from the game may be the reason for example.

That would affect load times, not random stuttering.

It would sure do that, depending on the game, because usually in a large world the whole map isn't loaded full in some games, but loads the terrain when needed.

Even an old hard disk would be just fine. That wouldn't cause stuttering, especially since all (OP verify this) that was done was a GPU upgrade. Try to quote me.

Yeah im doing my test on black ops 3 lol. not a big map that needs to load. i really think its my drivers. but i dont know how to do work with them

@fusar While everyone is giving good advice, no one has asked the most important question: What games, settings and resolution, and do you use V-Sync or variant?

This happens at any graphics it makes no difference if im playing on the highest or lowest. no vysync.

Actually, it would. Games would purge the VRAM of unnecessary data (even if there's an abundance) which could lead to issues such as micro-stutter unless the engine has a good fetching solution in place.

What game can you play right now and record? Can you get MSI Afterburner and play the game while showing the OSD?

Do me a favor and record the first or second mission of BO3. 10 minutes should be a good sample. After that, try the same level with V-Sync or with a framerate cap of 60.

Using OBS or AMD's recording software, if they have one.

ok ill use obs. so you want me to download msi after burner and then record 10 minutes of gameplay then what?

Enable the OSD (on-screen display) and record 10 minutes or so of gameplay. Post the video here. 

Do the same a 2nd time with V-Sync or frame cap enabled and post it here.
