Ouch!

yathis

$15 for XT60 to 4mm bullets with 8" 10awg from local hobby store

HobbyKing is $3

I prefer to support local then China but its getting really hard to.

Are there any online Canadian companies where I can buy XT60, XT90, 4mm m-m couplers, Xt90 Anti Spark, wire, and the biggest of all is Teflon PTFE wire.

I have yet to find a local place that sells it, I just buy from a dude in Cali.

Damm and here I was complaining about prices in Mexico. I feel for you man, even here a pair of XT60 pigtails runs south of 5 bucks. Have you checked tower hobbies?

I think it's a global conspiracy created by electronics shop owners.

I went shopping on the usual Ding Dong Lo sites for components, my entire list coming to about $180 or so which easily accommodates a small prototype production run that I can send out to potential investors and hobbyists I think it can get some support from.

Before ordering I decided to go local for a comparison. The ICs and electrolytic capacitors alone would run me over $250 for the same quantity and that's less than a fifth of what I need.

Even a small 40x40 PCB is at least 5 times more expensive to get locally and I don't really want to buy whole boards to reduce the cost (I don't have the time, patience or tools to cut, drill, etch, so pre-drilled boards are the way to go, at least at this stage in development).

The main issue with ordering from China is that you don't really know what quality the components are, since you're most likely getting off-brand stuff. Then there's the delivery time, which takes anywhere from a month to 3 months from my experience (ordered some stuff off of eBay and fasttech in January and they arrived mid-March)

Connectors, plugs and other misc components that can't really go horribly wrong I still order in bulk off of eBay or Ali Express (depends on what I need and how much of it I need).

It's a damned conspiracy, I tell ya!

(free samples from TI FTW!)

(also, don't ask what I'm making. Keeping it a secret for now since it might make me some nice coin in the future)

I guess I will be ordering from HobbyKing.com

I am in Canada, but can I order from the USA warehouse?

I just dont want to wait for the boat to arrive from China on my continent.

I wish iCharger sold a higher then 10S charger, I am satisified with my Meanwells though, I can bulk charge on a regular outlet no problemo, at most pulls 12A total on a 20A circuit breaker which is good news because I was dreading buying an Eaton or ELTEK with only 5 or 10A gain.

Anyone know of a good Meanwell clone seller on ebay?

HRP is my model

IMO Eaton is worth every penny. All my Eaton gear was bought second-third-fourth hand as "defective" (they worked just fine, but they were pretty old) because who the hell buys PDUs, UPSes and Vregs to use at home (what I mean is that people are generally stupid enough to not spot amazing deals on solid hardware shrugging them off as useless).

My UPS and Vreg are kinda loud though, since the fans are high rpm and aren't designed to be anywhere near silent
