Acceleration is basically the faster you move your mouse the further the cursor will go even if the mouse has traveled the same distance. And lift off range is how far lifted up off the mouse pad the mouse has to be before the sensor stops detecting the surface.

Edit: If you use mouse acceleration this is truly a grave sin within the PC Master Race (you want it off)
