It's a bit over your budget but I would recommend this build.

If you really can't get anymore money, then go with this build, it has only 4GB cheap ram but ram is the easiest part to upgrade without a loss. When you need more, just buy a new stick of the same ram and install it, no loss; any other part would need replacing which means you lose some money in the process.

I came up with this in a few minutes.

PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yLXZKZ
Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yLXZKZ/by_merchant/

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($165.98 @ NCIX US)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T2 54.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler  ($11.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Asus PRIME B350-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($98.88 @ OutletPC)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory  ($54.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Sandisk SSD PLUS 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($71.04 @ Amazon)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($48.88 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon RX 460 2GB WINDFORCE OC Video Card  ($73.98 @ Newegg)
Case: Corsair 100R ATX Mid Tower Case  ($39.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($39.89 @ Newegg)
Total: $605.62

I'd definitely say you should try to keep any parts you already have if they are still usable. Ex: Keep your current HDD so you dont have to buy a new one, maybe even your old case if its decent, and maybe any fans, etc. I'd guess you dont have 8gb of ram on your Pc, but you get the point.

Any money you can save, put it towards a better graphics card, especially if you're planning on gaming.

Also, personally I always recommend to people to save up more money to get a better PC rather than cheaping out for the lower price. In the future you're going to be happy I said that.

Basically,

Ryzen 5 1400

8gb ram

AMD RX 470

Any 400+ Watt PSU

I'd still recommend saving up though.

Ryzen 5 1600 + RX 580 + 16 GB ram would be your best bet, and you can get that for probably less than 1100 AUD

(Like this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zvxNFd ) I know its USD again but you get the point

Haha, Thanks. $1 within budget.

Personally I would go with something like this,

https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/Z72YzM

but that would put OP $500 over budget, Australian prices are insane. Even in that build, I'm using cheaper parts, if it was for me I would go with different brands or models. Personally I think the one I posted above will give you great performance for the next couple of years without issue. You also have room to upgrade the system for more performance without rebuilding and best of all, it falls within your budget.
