Hello, I have this idea, i know it's probably terrible, but it's inspired partly by one of Linus's videos (the one where he built that super jank desktop with server parts). Also his other videos where he used virtualization (two gamers one pc, seven gamers one pc, etc.). So basically what I want to do is take an old rack mount server and virtualize a desktop on it and pass through a graphics card. I know most cheap servers are too old to have useable pcie slots and most are only x8 (i know you can saw off the end, but that's more jank than i'm wiling to go). But maybe there are some servers with graphics compatibility? I'm probably gonna have it in a closet, so I'm not really concerned by noise. I'm thinking I'll use unRaid for the vms, which is cool cause then I can use the machine for other things like kodi or whatever. I could even throw in other graphics cards and run a whole 'nother vm. So yeah, a rack mount server, unRaid, throw in a graphics card and pass it though to the vm, and use it for other stuffs. I need suggestions for what type of decommissioned rack server would support x16 graphics cards and any other suggestions, comments, just any information you'd like to share. Also, if you have a build idea that goes along with this, please share. yeet, thanks, out.
