PS4 controller acting wacky. Fixes?

Hi everyone,

 

My PS4 controller is acting wacky. Buttons are engaging without me pressing them. Noticed while playing FarCry Primal. Aim button (L2) will engage without me pressing it. When watching youtube videos x button will engage and pause the video over and over again, 

 

Any good fixes? I'm sure someplace like ifixit.com has some good suggestions but I'd thought I'd ask here too.

 

Controller is about 2.5 years old and I play a lot.

Sounds like the sensors are bad. Time for a new controller.

They're like $45 dollars  It would be nice to take it apart and clean it if that's an option

If its like my ps3 controller, take it apart and look at the area where the ribbon cable presses on the mainboard. It wasn't making good enough contact, so I shimmed it up with a piece of paper behind it and that fixed it

You can try... but its likely not going to help in my opinion.

You can also try spraying down the sensors with electrical contact cleaner, which can be found at most hardware stores
