Platform upgrade to ryzen for 450 pound

Hey guys so I think my cpu has fuckin but the dust despite having it fixed and getting a new board

im going to send the board back to amazon because they have a 14 day return policy

I have 450 to spend on a new board cpu and ddr4 ram

is it posible to get a 1700 x370 board(I need sli) and 8/16gb ddr4 ram

I can possibly stretch to 650 if needs be but in need quality and cheep

and I know they don't go hand in hand

also I primarily game on a 144hz gsync panel so I don't mind loosing 15 fps off the top end in some games, I'm choosing ryzen because I think it will age better

will the 1600/1600x perform the same in gaming? Because that could be an option but I think the 1700 for an extra 50 is worth it ?

thanks for your help

You can go with 8GB of RAM and can upgrade in future then you can save 40 pounds and don't forget you should get a minimum of 3000MHz RAM for Ryzen to perform good and you can save 12 pounds by going with 16 GB 3000MHz kit instead of 3200MHz but I think 3200MHz is good maybe you may not bet able to get it run at 3200MHz but I'm sure that it will be fixed in future BIOS updates it just takes some time or if you are lucky you can clock the RAM at 3200MHz now itself. The stock cooler should be enough for base and turbo clocks. In gaming there is no big difference but still those extra cores and threads will help in future.

I suggest go for 1600/1600x then upgrade to Zen+ since it will use AM4 platform as well.

Thanks so much guys

so if I get the 1600 and overclock my self (do thies hit 4ghz)

it will be the same for gaming ?

I run sli 980tis at 1440p ultra

but seriously mainly only overwatch on low settings so as long as it will hit 200 fps in ow it will be fine

Is there any point in the 1600x if I'm going to overclock ?
