Just built my new pc and in it I have g.skill ripjaws 2x4gb 1600. In my old system I had some random brand with the same specs, 2x4gb 1600. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to use both at the same time just so I have the extra 8gbs.

Thanks.

Yes it will work fine. It may not overclock well, but I have NEVER had issue with mixing RAM. Some will say no, but most of them have never even tried. At any rate you already have the RAM, and it will certainly not hurt anything trying. It will just work, or it wont.
