Honor 8 Root Problem

So i have been trying to root my phone for the last 3 hours by following this guide https://www.xda-developers.com/honor-8-root-twrp-and-xposed/, but every time i try too boot into recovery its just been stuck on "Your device is booting now...", i have tried to reflash it multiple times and diffrent versions but none of them works.
