The hard drive in my Toshiba Satellite is failing and I was wondering if there is a way to find my windows product key so I do not have to buy another. If I can manage to get it going what can I do to find it? Is there a solution here that does not involve me buying another copy of windows?

If you have windows 10 and link it to your account then you would have to simply log in with your account and it would be a-okay.

If not then you can use https://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ , but if your license was OEM then you would need a new license

So if its the copy of windows from the manufacturer I would need to buy a new license?

Windows 8.1

You need to find the key then. 8.1 requires manual input.
