Best way to make a vm I can game with I have a  980 and I igpu

Search for PCI-Passthrough. You get around 95% of your normal performance although you have to mess around a bit to get it working

 

EDIT:

Although it also makes it hard (impossible?) to use your GPU outside of your virtual machine, if you want to do that I would use VMware, pretty good performance if you enable 3d acceleration but nowhere near native performance from my experience
